A-D Paintball Site Launched

This fall SpectrumDog Hosting was pleased to launch the new and improved A-D Paintball website. After visiting the field once (yes, we do love paintball) we knew that the course had a real amazing experience and service to offer enthusiasts in the City of Kawartha Lakes area for competitive, exciting and affordable paintball.

This PHP based site improved where the previous one lacked. It was obvious that a business of this calibre that had many positive reviews on many different paintball websites, required a dramatic presence on the web. That’s why a new design with news, contact and price information up front and centre was key to this site.

The colours and images are dramatic and attention grabbing and the navigation is up front and easy for users to find what they are looking for.

A slightly modified version of a jQuery image browser (successfully used on other client sites) made the image gallery come alive with impressive fade in/ out transitions. For more information on the jQuery image gallery plugin used, go so spaceforaname.com.

Maple Key Landscape Site Launched!

Formerly known as Stepping Stones Landscape, the new Maple Key Landscape is a rebranding of the old company but with all of the same excellent qualities. We were easily able to accommodate keeping the old domain active during this transition period. Maple Key Landscape picked SpectrumDog Hosting to provide their new image and refocus their site into a more presentation friendly format.

This site still utilizes PHP in order to maintain ease of maintenance. It also includes an excellent jQuery image gallery plugin that greatly enhances the visitors experience. A visitor can easily navigate between various images and galleries on the site, and the nature of the plugin allows for quick image preview and selection so its very easy for potential customers to see what Maple Key has to offer.

The gallery was easy to implement and will be easy to update and expand to add more and more pictures over time.

NeverEnoughChrome.com Launched!

NeverEnoughChrome: your source for chrome and wood accessories for your big-rig has chosen SpectrumDog hosting as their host for their online precense.

When I contacted Joel Simpson, owner of NeverEnoughChrome, he was unable with his current host and wanted to switch. We are more than happy to build a site that suited Joel’s needs.

For this project a brand new modern look was created that trumped what they had before. The site was reorganized to bring important information such as specials and contact detail up front, along with a simple top navigation.

A neat effect is on the products page where a PHP script was used (thank you CorePHP) to make impressive reflections of each image.

This project also involved porting both the existing neverenoughchrome.com and neverenoughchrome.ca to our servers.

The site is entirely built in PHP using includes so that simple changes can me made quickly and easily site wide. Also the site relies heavily on CSS for matting, colouring, fonts, etc.

SteppingStonesLandscape.ca Launched!

SpectrumDog hosting is ramping up! As of today you can now visit the managed site SteppingStonesLandscape.ca. This is a Canadian owned business working in the Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough and Durham areas providing quality and fair workmanship. Stepping Stones Landscape is new to the web and they chose SpectrumDog to help setup their online precense!

New Partner: LML Techonlogie

March 2009 - SpectrumDog has just completed work with a new partner, LML Techonologie based out of Quebec.

Together we have built a new online store to showcase and sell the multitude of technology products offered by LML.

The store is built on the proven solid foundation of Zen Cart and easily processes credit card transactions online securely and safely. The project required knowledge of MySQL databases, PHP based applications and SSL certificate setup, plus working with a robust PHP API (application programming interface) to connect with an online payment gateway to process the credit card transactions.
